Index on Censorship - Freedom of Expression Awards

I thought this had been posted already, but I can’t find it so posting again.

There’s an organisation called Index on Censorship, who are asking for nominations for a Freedom of Expression Award to ‘celebrate individuals or groups that have had a significant impact fighting censorship.’

Lots of people on their Twitter saying they’re going to nominate JKR.

I did it this morning. It’s a longish form, but quite straightforward. If you go to the Index On Censorship website it’s easy to find the form and on their Twitter feed there’s a guy called Pete Ward who has given his responses as a guide. Deadline is October 1st.

Jkr is a good nomination.

But I was already planning on nominating Fair Cop who brought the judicial review, putting the spotlight on police overreach into the policing of peoples thinking, and online political speech even where it doesn't break the law. They won part of the judicial review and are appealing the bit they didn't win.

You can nominate in three different categories. Fair Cop would be a good nomination for the Campaigning category, whereas JKR would probably fit better in Arts...
