Marsha P Johnson was a cross dresser who saw himself as male.

But yay for Marsha to be included as one of the “100 Women of the Year, TIME’s list of the most influential women of the past century“

The Times only had to find one woman per year for the last 100 years but obviously failed. So I can only guess women were busy washing their hair that day.

However, to be fair to the dictionary, dictionaries report how words are used by people, not necessarily scientific or legal definitions

But (a) the definitions have a clear meaning and (b) the dictionary should indicate if a word is used as slang or it is a colloquialism.
