(This is the DM version of a Times story I cant access as I have used my limit for the week)

Schools are urged to teach children as young as 13 about intimate sexual acts using a dice game sparking fears explicit material is sexualising girls

  • The Proud Trust's Sexuality aGender v2 toolkit features the explicit dice game
  • The sex-ed resource was funded by a £99,960 fund from the Tampon Tax Fund
  • There are now fears that the kit could 'prematurely sexualise' school girls

Tanya Carter, a spokeswoman for Safe Schools Alliance, told The Times: 'This 'resource' clearly breaches safeguarding. The tampon tax should be used to educate girls on their rights — not prematurely sexualise them.'

Long thread in AIBU about this:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4010360-AIBU-to-think-teachers-should-not-be-teaching-sex-games-to-children

The Proud Trust’s twitter feed is weird. They get hardly any likes or retweets. And are comments disabled or does no one comment?

Tanya Carter’s quote leaves me feeling slightly winded. How the hell is this happening!

NotBadConsidering · 04/09/2020 07:28

It was funded by the Tampon Tax, then they asked for 25 quid to help produce it, now they’re selling it for 75 quid:

I despair of some of the Cool Girls on AIBU. And who is that TomNook poster? Hmm

NotBadConsidering · 05/09/2020 02:26

TomNook is someone who purportedly teaches RSE to children and if they were my kids’ teacher, I would pull them out quick smart.

@NotBadConsidering
I agree about tomNook, says they're a teacher but has no problem making fun of dyslexic people and hasn't got a clue about safeguarding .

My MP has put a post on SM about how sex education will encompass LGBTQ+ in future. It's caused a bit of a furore,which surprised me. I asked if she can confirm that the dice game has been withdrawn,as Gavin Williamson was informed of its unsuitability in June. No reply from her,as I expected,but a few have asked what the dice game is,and I've given a quick précis ( I said I didn't want to put a link as I regarded it pornographic). They are horrified,and also asking her if it's going to be taught. No answer as of yet,but regardless,it isn't going to go down well in a Tory voting farming constituency.
Still no reply to my last letter about the GRA,I don't think I'll get one as I think that she thought that I was an ignorant country bumpkin who she could bedazzle and shame with her shame/kindness spin when she replied to my first one. When you can't argue against facts,it's best to just ignore them I suppose.🙄
