And contacting women directly.
Idiots. Awful to do this to the women and will damage trust.

Suppose a solution is to put yourself down as S Bear rather than Sally Bear. Idiots.

StealthPolarBear · 17/08/2020 19:47

Or Steve bear. If they call you can explain.
Or for the company to store records securely and sack these tossers.

Isn't it just yet another example that when men can push boundaries that they will? Menz gotta menz and all that.

highame · 17/08/2020 19:50

Where does the info come from?

StealthPolarBear · 17/08/2020 19:52

Highame my understanding is a list (online or written I suppose) you're added to when going to a pub or restaurant. I saw a few complains about it on local fb pages and now there's a slightly more official one from our local group.

Yes, it's much the same as if you'd booked a table, or were ordering takeaways for delivery. It's just expanded to at least one person per group for ant ear/drink in.

I think answer is to use just initials and surname.

And if it ever happens to you, complain as loudly as you can (or if to a friend, encourage them to do so)

This came up last month, hard to find stories because the same words bring up other hits.

I can’t access this one due to the paywall, but I’m pretty sure it’s relevant:

Happened to me with a delivery driver-- any courier coming to your house has access to your phone number. Theft of personal data for the purpose of harassment should be its own crime IMO.

Just seen a thread on Twitter. Contacted by guy who did blood test via Instagram, asking out. Lots of idiots saying he was polite, just say no. Others pointing out it was illegal thankfully.
This is about training as well, the obvious needs explaining in words of one syllable to some people.
