And women are sharing. There's a depressingly but predictably high instance of stories being shared relating to male abuse and physical injury, together with questions of force and consent. The lack of funding and medical research devoted to the common, painful disease of endometriosis (presumably because that's women's problem) is also a common theme. Do I even need to state what the third most-oft repeated sentiment is? Unsurprisingly, a variation on the acronym Trying to Explain Reality to Fuckwits seems to be cropping up a lot ...

Will have a little look later. Found this behind the scenes article last night. You've definitely got the most accurate interpretation of the acronym there Mariel.

"Has Daniel Radcliffe contributed yet?"

Lolz.

highame · 17/08/2020 10:48

Really important this.....am so proud of those women. Just go and add something, anything.

Roswellconspiracy · 17/08/2020 11:08

Well on the plus side it exposes the truth.

Its not exvlusionary theres a transman in the advert.

It doesn't centre men thats all.

Let the ourage commence

Winesalot · 17/08/2020 11:58

It is great to see this was Trending. Bodyform has done really well in creating this video. I cried almost from the first minute.

And it is interesting reading the reactions. It is inclusive and it doesn’t erase women in any way. They talk about women, they show transmen. Their communication doesn’t talk about ‘menstruators’. They still use the word woman. I feel that this brand has the right approach and a very powerful message. Particularly in highlighting endometriosis.

Yet, there are transwomen who are commenting about it being exclusionary.

And some transwomen have joined in anyway with their own stories of their ‘periods’.

Aw that's a beautiful little film. Made me cry a tiny bit too! It's an amazing bit of kit the old womb!

ShirleyPhallus · 17/08/2020 14:24

It’s fantastic. But getting a predictable amount of shit, like this:

twitter.com/florian90p/status/1295268191317512194?s=21

Someone posting a pic of a womb further down thread and he responds with “gross”. Cool bro.

Roswellconspiracy · 17/08/2020 14:40

They do all the work for us..

IloveJKRowling · 17/08/2020 14:43

I'm going to buy bodyform more on the basis of this.

Durgasarrow · 19/08/2020 04:36

The stories are lovely and it's great that women have a voice again, but wait, women don't have a voice. Uteruses have a voice.

Deliriumoftheendless · 19/08/2020 07:55

That photo of a uterus on the thread amazed me. I never knew how tiny they are! I’m actually stunned. I assumed they were much bigger than that.

What an amazing thing.

Me too! It’s teeny tiny. What an incredible organ.

That hamster person is on the wind up. Best ignored, really.

Siablue · 19/08/2020 11:16

This is lovely. I really like the advert.

I can’t tell if Florian who has a hamster baby is genuine of a parody account (I am autistic).

Babdoc · 19/08/2020 11:30

That teeny uterus becomes the biggest, strongest muscle in the human body when at term pregnancy! And then manages to involute back to original size afterwards - having grown and delivered a whole new human in the process.
It’s awe inspiring. And only women have them. Which is why there have been cults of fertility goddesses, fear and loathing of women and “womb envy” since time began.
I think a lot of misogyny has ancient roots in this male jealousy that only women could produce children. They seem to want to exclude us from absolutely everything else!

DryHeave · 19/08/2020 11:58

I read that the uterus is the only organ that grows another organ. I think that’s pretty remarkable and it’s stuck with me.
