Help Lebanese women and children affected by devastation in Beirut

If you have been contemplating donations to help women in Beirut following the recent news, I have been reliably informed that a Lebanese feminist organisation named KAFA are a good choice as any money they receive will be directly spent towards helping women and children. (Other charities might not have a specific focus on women.)
They also work with domestic workers, prostituted women and refugees from Syria and Palestine.

Here is a video of their appeal -

Donations will be directly passed on to them via the Donor Direct Action / Sisterhood is Global Institute webpage.

If there are any other organisations or groups that might be similarly useful, feel free to post about them in this thread. Smile

Thank you for sharing this.

Oh sorry, I didn't know there was a thread elsewhere. I tend to only come to the FWR boards. I'll have a look at the AIBU section, thanks. Smile

This is the AIBU thread that was being referred to. It has other organisations being suggested -
There must be something we can do to help the people in Bierut

Thank you Nonny for posting this. Horrendous events there, absolutely awful.

Thank you for posting this, OP.

Thank you OP. I've been wondering where to donate given some of the appalling anti-women policies and practices evident in so many of the major charities so this is very useful.

stumbledin · 09/08/2020 16:58

From the link posted avove I see the donations are actually to a global fund so wonder how much money is filtered off in "admin".

Sorry to be cynical.

stumbledin · 09/08/2020 17:02

Have found their own web site and they have a donate page.

Looks like they can only accept money by bank transfer but if you want the details to do that the info is at www.kafa.org.lb/en/support

Thanks for looking that up stumbledin.
