Apparently supporting an ovarian cancer charity is not inclusive enough.

Every day I think it can't get any worse, and then it does.

Reading the twitter thread, it appears to be a misinterpretation of policy rather than trans related. Doesn't look like any one has claimed it's transphobic and the author of the twitter thread made it clear that she didn't know why it had been rejected (the initial decision has been reversed.)

The shocking thing is that a member of staff even thought it was OK to state that this was unacceptable. He won't be the only one - charities for women's health are under siege from these people for being transphobic - ie women centred.

Sure, but we don't actually know why that member of staff thought it was unacceptable. From what the person has wrote, it doesn't sound like the request was rejected because of transphobia.

"We have a policy on fundraising which says we must cover a range of diverse charities. This is to allow different people to nominate causes they are interested in rather than letting one person's cause dominate all fundraising. She thinks the person misinterpreted this guidance."

Surely a temporary request in honour of the colleague would be allowed?
Our work intranet allows such things or people to say I am doing x for y charity because of z reason.
It’s the colleague connection surely?
