Sports Illustrated first transgender swimsuit model

Sports Illustrated are publicising their first transgender (MtF) model. The male followers of sports illustrated are unhappy, are clearly saying they wouldn’t see this model as a partner, and are making lots of misgendering comments. However these posters don’t seem to be getting the aggressive sexualised comments that women who comment on trans issues get, and no threats of fixing or cancelling.
Wonder why that is?

I think gender is a nonsense created by the patriarchy to keep us in the boxes it's most comfortable with, and that sex is real - and binary - and matters.

But...that's a beautiful individual. I don't think I have a problem with them being celebrated as such, other than the usual problem that our bodies and sexuality should not be commodities for sale.

Interesting how sexism is such a part of the changes trans activists advocate, actually. It is almost completely the female body which is being de-gendered, not the male body, and it is women who are expected to be kind and inclusive and willing to let others define them, not men. So prostate cancer is a men's health issue while cervical cancer is an issue of cervix-havers.

I think the same sexism is the reason why women get online threats, get called TERFS, and are told to be silent.

Well, men are allowed to have boundaries, especially sexual boundaries. Women otoh...

I am more than happy for male trans people to completely take over the glossy fields of beauty pageants and all other general ogling opportunities. I think the male half of the species should take full ownership of the sexy lady gender games. Enjoy it all, blokes. We'll run the world while you're busy having tantrums about fancying a fantasy woman who you can pretend will let you near her vagina.

What would be quite helpful would be if transwomen wanted to replace biological women in all internet porn too.

And for those who might be struggling with the point here - yes, that picture is a very fetching example of the feminine ideal in our culture. And it's not a picture of a female. Which only goes to show that with enough cosmetic intervention, a male can look like the feminine ideal - which means the feminine ideal isn't anything to do with innate femaleness.

As I understand it the transwomen want to displace women in ever aspect of life both public and private.

I have to be honest, I wouldn't have known that model was trans if it hadn't been pointed out.

Is it good surgery? Or good photography/ lighting?

I would happily cede all anti women Playboy, Victoria's Secret, Miss World and all the other modelling and porn roles to Transwomen - perhaps we could run a campaign to encourage them?

Great idea. Soon there'd be no Playboy, Victoria's Secret, Miss World etc left because the blokes (gay or straight) wouldn't be interested.

It's all cosmetic. If no surgery, there is certainly tucking and judicious posing, lighting and make up. There are some ravishingly beautiful men out there who sit easily into the feminine aesthetic of our culture. Because it's made up illusion.

As others have said, it would be fab if men could take over all the glamour modelling jobs so women could get on with more interesting things. It must be bloody tedious having to primp and preen all the time, they are more than welcome to it.
