Nice and easy.

Sexnotgender · 05/07/2020 12:55

Excellent, I’ve already done it.

TheTamingOfTheresa · 05/07/2020 12:55

Excellent letter

lady69 · 05/07/2020 13:02

Done!

TheWordWomanIsTaken · 05/07/2020 13:06

I had already emailed Liz Truss but will share that template with a few others.

Campervan69 · 05/07/2020 13:18

I suppose if they're doing it then we need to do it. Trouble is they have the weight of such companies as Google and Stonewall behind them.

highame · 05/07/2020 13:57

Just done mine. Had been mulling this over for the past week and now all done.

MrsIronfoundersson · 05/07/2020 14:03

Done, thank you.

TinselAngel · 05/07/2020 14:06

I'm a bit concerned about this approach given I'd got the impression that the government didn't really appreciate all of the copy and paste responses based on Stonewall etc during the consultation.

Newwayofthinking · 05/07/2020 14:11

Done

Goldencurtain · 05/07/2020 14:13

It's going to be much more effective if we write our own letters

midclegs · 05/07/2020 14:18

I would be careful at using non-personalised letters. I think that uniform responses to the GRA reform consultation from TRAs formed 70% of the responses - it looks like these were largely thrown out the window because they were interested in hearing different views and the same letter from 1000s of people wouldn't have harnessed much credibility. Obviously this isn't a consultation now though.

Imnobody4 · 05/07/2020 14:45

I agree personalized letter is best, but also this is better than nothing for people who are struggling with that for whatever reason.

KayakingOnDown · 05/07/2020 15:29

Have sent but will also send personal one.

Personalised is better but this is still better than nothing.

Iamhangingin · 05/07/2020 15:44

Done

Haveastock · 05/07/2020 15:47

I hear you TinselAngel

Yes, definitely best try the personal email route than a filled out template. I’d hate for any responses to be dismissed as identikit templates.

When I wrote to Liz Truss on this, I referenced the fact that Pop n Olly were guiding and directing their primary-school-aged kids to the Stonewall site to fill out their GRA template. I expressed my disbelief that young children would understand the technical detail of this complex consultation document.

I suppose at least the FairPlay for Women template is mainly going to be filled out by grown adults who actually understand the issues.

stumbledin · 05/07/2020 15:48

May be worth remembering that the Tories said one of the things that thought was suspicious about the response to the consultation on the GRA was copy and past responses.

Have a care this doesn't back fire.

QuiteGood · 05/07/2020 16:13

This looks nice and easy. Thanks so much for sharing.

LoveInTheTimeOfCorona · 05/07/2020 16:32

Thanks

ShangaLangCleg · 05/07/2020 16:33

I'm hoping to write a personal letter but the link is great if you don't have the time.
Do you know if the link letter can be personalised?

Imnobody4 · 05/07/2020 17:03

I don't think it can be changed but I suppose you could copy and paste the text, then adapt on send directly to Liz Truss which is best of both worlds.

OP posts:
ShangaLangCleg · 05/07/2020 17:50

Yes, good suggestion OP, thanks! I can use it as the basis of my own letter then delete / add as appropriate. The information can act as a prompt for my shit post-menopausal memory. You know, that thing that 'all' women get, especially the penis-havers.

BillyCotton · 05/07/2020 17:54

I think it would be better to read to understand what they are saying but write your own letter tbh.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 05/07/2020 18:03

Thanks, I've copied & then adapted FPFW's email and sent.

I really do find templates very useful - even as a starting point. Thanks to FPFW for making this one.

RoyalCorgi · 05/07/2020 18:40

I'm a bit concerned about this approach given I'd got the impression that the government didn't really appreciate all of the copy and paste responses based on Stonewall etc during the consultation.

Agreed. Definitely counter-productive. Either write your own letter or don't write at all.
