It’s surprisingly hard to find evidence online (I think George got inspired when he played Leigh Bowery in the Taboo musical? So circa 2002) but I‘ve had a deep dive on google and found a few pictures...

... none are as good as this photo of Dawn French dressed as Boy George tho - I hesitated about posting it because I don’t want Dawn to get cancelled... but then I realised she could just identify as being boygeorgefluid or something and all will be fine.

Trying to remain relevant

Maybe boy George is trolling us, who cares? The result is that thanks to his relatively high profile, plenty of his followers will be reading the reasonable measured responses to his inane query and will be realising that women have a good point, and the more TRAs that jump on the thread lashing out with abuse, the better in my opinion as it sheds more light on what kind of people are on the supposedly right side of history.

I got caught up in a thread with Boy George, iirc it went something like

Tweeter A "Women don't want any old hairy arsed bloke in their spaces"
Tweeter B "You stupid transphobe"
Me to B "Are you saying transwomen are hairy arsed blokes? It's obvious what Tweeter A meant"

Boy George retweeted my comment (ooh!) With his comment "women with hairy arses aren't allowed" or something like that, that made absolutely no sense.

He's been toying with the gender debate for a long time now, flip flopping all over the place and being rather incoherent.

Yes, he's been inconsistent. He followed me on Twitter and I was so excited at first. Then he unfollowed me, probably as I was just too TER*Y.
