"Jesus and Mo" is a web comic where a cartoon Jesus and Mohammed have irreverent conversations about religion and other matters. It's not for the easily offended!

Some of the recent issues have dipped their toes into gender identity politics. See:
www.jesusandmo.net/comic/lives/

It is hilarious to read some of the woke bros in the comments, who had no problem with the strip making fun of Christianity or Islam, but take great offence at any slight upon the TRA religion.

Oh, that makes me happy!

I used to read Jesus and Mo a lot in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo murders (and the shameful stance of the left on those murders) but haven't checked it out for a while.

Definitely have to print this one out and put it in a secret place my woke children can't see it, lol

This was the author's comment to Andy Lewis

Majorly cheered up.

I find consistency so comforting. It reminds me that often it's not that our values have shifted, or become more conservative; it's that our values hold steady while the world around us performs extravagant circus tricks in the service of fashion and fads.

Omg that makes me really happy!!! So glad that the author gets it! I've always liked the Jesus and Mo comics.

Excellent

Thank you for that OP.

DickKerrLadies · 25/06/2020 07:52

I haven't come across this before but I'm already a fan.

The most recent one on the home page ('valid') is also amusing.

RoyalCorgi · 25/06/2020 09:34

Makes me happy too, both because it's absolutely bang on and because I'd have been devastated if the person who creates Jesus and Mo had turned out to have swallowed the TRA nonsense.

jeaux90 · 25/06/2020 10:18

That's fab OP I just shared that on Twitter

ISaySteadyOn · 25/06/2020 10:24

Grin that's a relief, I used to love them. Makes me want to reread.

nauticant · 25/06/2020 12:52

Look at the comments from progressives walking the tightrope of seeking to explain the cartoon while not having the declare Jesus&Mo a heretic. Particularly those that say "but hey! Mo isn't actually trans, Mo is just doing what suits him at any time, obviously none of us right minded people view this as the same thing as being trans".

Boy, do they come off a pompous.

Icantreachthepretzels · 25/06/2020 13:22

Boy, do they come off a pompous.

The male need to pontificate is always a sight to behold. I've read plenty of long screeds of information on the internet ... I can always tell when it was written by a man (no matter what the user name and avatar).

Pompous is exactly it - as if they are doing the world a favour by bestowing their intellectual giantism upon it.

picklemewalnuts · 25/06/2020 13:30

Man those comments. I gave up.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 25/06/2020 16:55

Genius. Love it. Absolutely fucking love it. Permission to send it a (male) friend who is attempting to understand my view on gender critical feminism? I keep sending him rather long, laborious articles but this sums it up in four little windows.

And, for the record, I'm a reasonably devout Christian. We don't all make jam and look for reasons to be offended Grin

I think that I'm a Jesus and Mo convert Grin

Those interminable male screeds. You're not nearly as interesting or original as you think you are!

Pompous is exactly it - as if they are doing the world a favour by bestowing their intellectual giantism upon it.

Quite.

WhatAWonderfulDay · 25/06/2020 20:44

Have you seen this one httpss:www.jesusandmo.net/comic/valid/

WhatAWonderfulDay · 25/06/2020 20:57

Oops
Here's the right link www.jesusandmo.net/comic/valid/

Melia100 · 25/06/2020 21:04

The valid one is sweet and funny, the equivalent of a gentle joshing.

MessyBess · 25/06/2020 21:24

Oh that’s funny. Love how they can take the piss out of one thing being laughed at but can’t handle this being made into humour? My opinion is humour is subjective and I won’t find all of it funny but I would never get so up myself like some of those comments. If they don’t like it they can move on but to get so preachy about it is weird. Surely if they are so upset by this they should be upset when religion in general is made into a joke.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/06/2020 22:05

Surely if they are so upset by this they should be upset when religion in general is made into a joke.

I think they're atheists so have no respect for religion. Apart from this one.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 25/06/2020 22:30

The male need to pontificate is always a sight to behold.

For the second time in as many weeks, I've just had a comment I've given as advice repeated back to me, but paraphrased, by a man who feels the need to correct me. WITH MY OWN WORDS.

Grinding teeth, here.

ErrolTheDragon · 25/06/2020 22:47

I'd forgotten about J&M, thanks!Smile

The twitter comment from the Author is succinctly comprehensive:

I know! It's the same old crap I've been making fun of for years. The moral certainty, the circular reasoning, the bogus post hoc science, the dualism, the misogyny, the branding of disagreement as evil or hate, the imperviousness. It's all there.
