Do we want you in our changing room? Do we want to take photos of you. Do we fuck. It's all about him. Not a care for anyone else.

You're a bloke, mate. You are not a woman you will never pass for one.

I don't give a fuck how safe you feel.

I don't want you, with your XY chromosomes, in my female only space.

ThinEndoftheWedge · 18/06/2020 17:19

Bless Charlotte - imagine being over 6ft, built like a tank, being a fully paid up member of the class of human being who commits violence against women and girls, worried about a transphobe young girl wanting their own spaces away from males.

FannyCann · 18/06/2020 17:23

Wow. The wonders of photoshop. Wink

"Most cisgender women would be completely fine with a trans woman using the showers after a workout, but do I want to risk ticking off some random transphobe? No. Do I want to risk having someone take photos of me without my consent? No."

Funnily enough that maybe true. Women who are happy to be labelled "cis" just may be happy to share showers, although it is possible they are unaware what it is they are agreeing to and they may get an unexpected shock and fast track up the peak.

Personally I certainly wouldn't risk confronting Clymer. There's a history there. Plus a 6 foot ex military body.

No, I'd turn on my heel and run.

Jaxhog · 18/06/2020 17:24

What struck me is that this TW says JKR is 'claiming to know us from such a clear position of ignorance about our daily lives', yet is claiming EXACTLY that about women's lives!!

NoVegPlease · 18/06/2020 17:25

The faux vulnerability is grating, as if identifying as a woman automatically makes one tender, weak and helpless, even though one is a six-foot ex-soldier

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/06/2020 17:27

Most cisgender women would be completely fine with a trans woman using the showers after a workout

Lying or delusional? I vote for a bit of both.

Kit19 · 18/06/2020 17:31

Nope I wouldn’t be fine with it either

However jameela is totes fine with it so they can pop round to hers whenever they need a shower

She won’t mind - she said she’s happy to share her spaces with transwomen Grin

merrymouse · 18/06/2020 17:33

Most cisgender women would be completely fine with a trans woman using the showers after a workout

To be fair, anyone who 'identifies with cultural expectations of their sex', probably wouldn't feel it was their place to say no.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/06/2020 17:34

I hope she has a bigger than average shower then!

CHARLES EFFING CLYMER. The misogynist who transitioned to get away with abusing women. Yes, Charles, mansplain to an abuse victim how much more vulnerable you are than she is. Question--are there any sane transwomen penning op-eds, ones who do not have a history of being abusers, doxxers, or worse?

terryleather · 18/06/2020 18:47

Please take yer narc entitlement and shove it in yer gold lamé pocketbook, ma'am!

No ,mostly we wouldn't be fine about it actually

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/06/2020 18:49

I personally would reach the conclusion that the person who owned that item had horrible taste, but then I'm a big meanie.

terryleather · 18/06/2020 18:53

They might have bad taste Kittens but at least everyone will call them ma'am...

Clymene · 18/06/2020 19:00

You know Charlotte, I've been groped more times than I can count. The first time was when I was 9. I've lost count since then. This is women's lived experience.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/06/2020 19:17

In the context of Rowling's post it was kind of "here is my long and painful story of breaking my leg and subsequently having multiple surgeries and having to learn to walk again", "yeah well I stubbed my toe last week so I don't know what you're complaining about".

WomaninBoots · 18/06/2020 19:18

The public square?

I thought it was a sphere?

endlessginandtonic · 18/06/2020 19:36

Does anyone actually know any woman who hasn't been groped?
It is a depressing reality of our existence and I'm surprised that they were surprised by it happening to them.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/06/2020 20:03

Lying or delusional? I vote for a bit of both.

I'd agree, and add deliberately goading women.

NotTerfNorCis · 18/06/2020 20:14

Oh God, it's that person. Sad

endlessginandtonic · 18/06/2020 20:18

Also wtf has a gold lame pocketbook got to do with being a woman?
I don't want to live in the 1950's.

WhatTiggersDoBest · 18/06/2020 20:25

Wow what great lengths a mansplainer went to, to be able to 'splain to women without risk of being told to STFU.
And, yeah, sure they were groped. And that's obviously exactly the same as being trapped in your own home with an abuser and a small baby who you fear for the safety of.
Yeah I mean what is JKR thinking of, feeling abused when she isn't trans and could absolutely NEVER, NOT EVER, POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND HOW HARD IT IS to need to stuff your bra every day and 'splain to everyone about your favourite subject... your trans self.
I mean, the two things aren't even comparable. This randomer has it so hard IDK how they even got up this morning with their penis weighing them down so much.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/06/2020 20:35

I bet she doesn't even have a gold lame purse, that Rowling.

Stealhsquirrelnutkin · 18/06/2020 22:11

Gosh, isn't it amazing what you can do with digital images and photoshop? It sometimes helps to have another person included in the image, to give an idea of perspective.

Ms Clymer claims women don't raise objections to her invading their sex segregated spaces. I wonder why that might be? Perhaps there's a clue in the second photograph?
