Women's leadership in COVID

Ardern in New Zealand, most of the Federal and Provincial Heath Ministers in Canada, especially the much celebrated Dr. Henry, K K Shailaja in Kerala. Taiwan, Norway, Germany...

Compassion, clarity and a focus on health rather than the economy. Now I will be interested to see if the global recession that's coming proves them all wrong. But female leaders did well with the financial crisis as well so maybe not.

I'm not saying every country should make sure its leader and Medical Officer is female but it does rather show why having women in government is important.

On the other hand, having a woman leader may be a result of a fair and well-run society, rather than a cause of it:

That does make perfect sense. A virtuous circle.

There’s always an exception. In Scotland we’ve got bloody Sturgeon! Grin
Keen to score political points, play up differences with England, push her silly independence agenda. At a time when she should be dealing with the much higher proportion of care home deaths in Scotland than England. Or explaining why she skipped more COBRA meetings than Boris did. Or why she made such a mess of distributing the business bail out money from Westminster until protests forced her to adopt the English system.
At the moment, Scots can’t even have a nice safe distanced game of golf, whereas the English a mile away in Berwick can. All because Sturgeon thinks Scots are too stupid to understand any message more complex than “Stay at home”.
