This pissed me off though. They just don't see that this high rate of mentally Ill teens being are told that trans is the answer instead of them getting proper mental health care.

It’s fucking sad though that a 13 year old had to raise it. Adults should have correctly applied the EA and rigorously safeguarded the issue. (Not denigrating ssa and other orgs-they are doing a great job)

Our want for privacy and dignity is not wrong and bigoted - it is based on thousands of years of being the victim of men's "desire". Our feelings should not be pushed aside.

Bloody hell, you can absolutely can tell from what Oxfordshire county council are still saying that they withdrew the guidance reluctantly, despite them realising it was unlawful.

They know the advice places this, for example, 13-year-old girl, in an impossible and dangerous position, but they still want to say it anyway.

They are waiting for the EHRC to publish their own guidance, in the hope that they can re-issue their Stonewall advised tool kit with a minor tweak. It's evidently a fairly well-placed hope, because isn't the head of the EHIC the ex chair of Stonewall?

I predict that this will absolutely end up in court. The advice that OCC, stonewall and presumably the EHRC want to give will continue to centre a flawed ideology over the rights of children, particularly girls, and it needs challenging.

Indeed, that needs repeating for those who still think this is all an unfortunate misunderstanding and everyone just needs to try to get along - the local authority is aware that their guidance is illegal and they want to keep using it anyway.

Well done young lady! We also need to challenge the language these woke institutions use- we are not assigned a gender at birth, our sex is observed. It’s worrying that councils, national companies and even the NHS repeat this falsehood. The once great Stonewall shouldn't be allowed anywhere near schools, government etc. They cannot be trusted to tell the truth.

I live in hope that the EHRC isn't so stupid that they would issue advice based on a misinterpretation of the law, and that has already been subjected to a legal challenge. However, nothing surprises me any more.

Yes! It needs to go all the way to the very top. Laws have not yet been changed, they are only being misinterpreted.

Which peers?

There are a host of factors which impact children's mental health: family dynamics/bereavement, illness, abuse & trauma, Care status, insecure housing/refugee status, poverty etc

Stonewall are harming the mental well-being of children identified as transgender by such constant false assertions. The children they claim to represent.

Yep. The guidance doesn't result just from a misunderstanding about how the law is applied. They (and a whole host of other organisations) simply don't believe that women and girls should have sex-based rights. How unfortunate for them that that is the status quo in law.

Although this is a positive development, we need some case law on this. I'm hoping an organisation will come along which is so dense and dogmatic about this that they inevitably end up in court.

I think we all owe a great deal to the framers of the Equality Act (and all the preceding sex discrimination legislation). It's so far proving extremely robust to gender ideology - which is why the only way the ideologues can get around it is to misrepresent or ignore it. But they will not be able to do that for ever.

Is it that kids who are trans are more likely to have MH problems, or are kids with MH problems more likely to be trans? That question- and similar that we've raised countless times- requires a level of critical thinking that those in power don't possess, or a need for research that never seems to get done.

It is also irrelevant in this case. It doesn't matter if every single boy who identified as trans had mental health issues, or bullying or had suffered sexual abuse. None of these is a reason for saying the safety, privacy and dignity of girls must sacrificed along with any opportunity to succeed in sports.

Girls are not responsible for treating boys mental health issue.

(Just to be clear - mental health, bullying and trauma from abuse should be addressed through mental health services etc)

If the EHRC do release trans guidelines that are anything like as predatory as their draft ones, this will head for the courts. And taking a quick look at the hundreds of comments and likes under the Times and Mail articles, people completely get the safeguarding issues for children. They may not understand all the convoluted language and political issues but they understand that girls should not be bullied into undressing in front of boys by undesirable adults and groups.
And that is a massive increase in public awareness.

So much evidence that the rights and safety of girls (and women) are repeatedly ignored by government agencies, the civil service, the NHS and local authorities. And still Oxfordshire focuses on one small group of vulnerable children and ignores everything they were supposed to have learnt about how easy it is to groom girls:
