History of makeup?

Hi, can anyone point me to a good resource detailing the history of makeup please? A colleague needs something for a teaching session with 14 year old girls.

Possibly - Classic Beauty: The History of Make Up by Gabriella Hernandez?

There is a programme on Netflix about CJ Walker which is about male up.

What a fascinating subject OP.

Makeup has played such an important role in so many cultures for many thousands of years.

Lisa Eldridge is an expert, has a huge vintage makeup collection and has written Face Paint, as before. There are a couple of YouTube videos of her discussing the history of makeup with a historian (they make the point that the history of makeup is essentially the history of women). Fascinating stuff.
