New York Times article: Can Estrogen and Other Sex Hormones Help Men Survive Covid-19?

Trials of estrogen and progesterone as coronavirus treatments are beginning in the US.

Really???!! I saw a study somewhere that it was directly linked to a gene on the X chromosome. So men only have 1 copy of it, something do so with inflammation. And a neighbour in nhs nuclear physics told me similar.

It's almost as if these doctors think the only difference between men and women are their hormones. Not the myriad genetic differences.

Even the article itself points this out:
"Some experts who study sex differences in immunity, however, warned that hormones may fail to be the magic bullet that some are hoping for; even elderly women with Covid-19 are outliving their male peers, and there is a drastic reduction in levels of hormones for women after menopause."

I had thought about posting this link, but then thought there are so many maybe this is the cure stories.

However, I was going to link it to this story which also indicates that testosterone is actually what makes men dangerous, not just to women but children.

There was actually a an article early on stating "do not use cross sex hormones" to help treat Covid. I think the independent or telegraph?

Also, there are many extra issues with taking cross sex hormones?

That article makes me feel uneasy though stumble, perhaps due to many of the issues pointed out. It didn't affect self regulation, reducing the hormones that power sexual desire is fairly obviously going to reduce things a bit but those men were self selecting and offered them selves forward. So have some desire not to have those feelings.

Trials aren’t as highly regulated in the US.

Also men who are over weight have higher levels of oestrogen compared to men who aren’t over weight. So surely if oestrogen did reduce death rates in men, ICU wouldn’t be full of over weight and obese men, but men of a healthy weight.

So maybe castration was the answer all along.

That Guardian article! "... subsequently diagnosed with paedophilic disorder."

That phrase sets my radar pinging. I can almost hear the whining voice saying 'It's not my fault, it's a medical condition, I have no control ...'.

GenderApostate19 · 01/05/2020 11:33

I don’t think many men would want the growth of breasts and shrinking genitals that go with it.

stumbledin · 01/05/2020 14:17

Just to say I dont believe the Guardian article, or rather the suggestion that paedophiles are just victims of hormones.

But more that on one level members of the medical community are going along with biological sex isn't really important, self identy gender is. And then they are doing this type of research.

But in fact both make me think that when it comes to research and looking for solutions to illness, what happens to men always gets priority. And they never worry whether it might or might not be appropriate for women.

It used to be ime that older women still did housekeeping and cleaning whereas some older men sat about doing nothing, hence their fitness levels fell more quickly. Not sure if that still is the case, probably a bit.

Perhaps, as experts are talking about dangerous viruses being the new normal, men will be on oestrogen permanently and their arrogant, aggressive tendencies will be reduced to kinder more empathic souls. Confused Confused

Yes, like most transactivists are!
