Horrific story. A Moroccan trans 'beauty influencer' launched a campaign against homosexuals, encouraging people to out them by infiltrating gay dating sites.

Homosexuality is illegal in Morocco. Many of the campaign's victims have been evicted, blackmailed and physically attacked. Others have say they now fear for their lives. Two suicides have been reported.

I've read the abuse transactivists aim at the LGB Alliance. Even some of the candidates for the Labour Party leadership were calling it a hate group.

But this is a whole new level of hostility. As if lesbians and gays don't have enough problems in places like Morocco anyway. I just hope the misogynist and homophobic tide turns before this starts happening over here.

Pink News headline is: 'Gay men in Morocco living in terror after trans influencer urged her followers to use dating apps to hunt them'

The article is highly critical of the 'influencer's actions, has lots of detail and translated screenshots of horrible threats gay men have apparently received in the aftermath.

Article ends: 'the damage and violence caused by her videos continues.

“She basically announced a war on gay people,” Nassim says. “We’re really scared and she has ruined the image of the queer community forever.”

The 19-year-old gay man, who had to remain anonymous for safety reasons, said: “This means a total loss of our underground queer culture...”'

That's really sad,those poor men. I looked at the Pink News report on it Skrim I was surprised by it, but how does anyone dress up men commiting suicide in an Islam County because they were outed by a transwoman?

And yet their devoted readers never seem to pick that up, GCAc, or at least they never admit it. I suppose it just doesn't matter to them.

No, because they're clinging on to that penny like it's a life preserver. If they let it drop they might have to admit to the role they've played in the persecution of women in general, and of lesbians in particular, and from there the next question is how many gay kids have been pushed down a path that ends in dramatically increased cancer risk and no ability to ever have an orgasm or a healthy, honest relationship again.

Also, if this person is a "beauty influencer" (will keep my opinions about that to myself, because the monitors are ever vigilant) that brings up something that I'm curious about. Why are so many young women falling all over themselves to worship individuals like this? Obviously most won't be as vicious as this person, but the general pattern of a certain subsection of young women apparently being eager to have a male person tell them what to do specifically in relation to how to best present oneself as an attractive woman is there as a trend. It's confused me ever since Jeffree Star (sp? probably, dunno how he writes his name) became a thing. The scene that spawned Jeffree is dead but his career isn't. Why? What's going on with the young women who follow men like that, psychologically.speaking?
