Male sexual entitlement of the rich: lockdown edition

The French turned back a British private jet of "holidaymakers". (Guardian, via Davina James-Hanman on Twitter.)

Seven men and three women arrived on the chartered aircraft to Marseille-Provence airport, where helicopters were waiting to fly them on to Cannes, where they had rented a luxury villa.

Not exactly a budget holiday then.

The men, aged 40-50, and women, aged 23-25, were refused permission to enter France and ordered by police to fly back to the UK.

Interesting split of age ranges by sex.

Once the Embraer Legacy jet had landed at Marseille-Provence, the group, made up of several nationalities including Croatian, German, French, Romanian and Ukrainian, reportedly tried to get help from contacts to continue their journey.

These are clearly not father-daughter trips, with the people coming from so many different countries.

"They tried to make use of their connections and made a few phone calls," the source said.

The jet, chartered by a Croatian businessman reportedly in "finance and property"

Rich, privileged, well-connected men.

BFMTV reported that nine of the jet passengers returned to the UK and the 10th chartered a private jet to Berlin.

Did I mention rich?

I strongly suspect that the women made up the Ukrainian and Romanian contingent of that group and were trafficked, prostituted or both.

These men are willing to risk their own lives and other people's to get their dicks wet. I'm not even surprised any more.

YABU to suspect the women were trafficked or prostitutes with no evidence. YANBU to think theyare idots for travelling.

YABU to suspect the women were trafficked or prostitutes with no evidence.

"No evidence" apart from the age gap and nationalities, which are big red flags.

Not sure which paper I read, but that paper made it clear what the women were there for. The rich and powerful, huh. Shame the guy organising the trip wasn’t arrested for trying to bribe the officials.

june2007 · 27/04/2020 15:40

The article doesn,t say they tried to bribe. They tried to use connections which is different to bribing.

june2007 · 27/04/2020 21:02

Read another article that does mention bribery.

Confirmation: the women are "escorts" aka prostituted and they did try to bribe. metro.co.uk/2020/04/11/private-jet-sent-back-uk-france-rich-holidaymakers-12541833/

The men tried to bribe, not the women.
