It's ridiculous they didn't bother doing this to start with, that's baffling as well. I appreciate that it would annoy some trans people to gather the data accurately but either you put up with them fucking up the dataset or you give them a "prefer not to say" option and then you fucking get on with it. Surely you don't let the prospect of some Twitter tantrums stop you from gathering the data scientists need to stop a pandemic.
What is going on here? I just don't understand what the fuck Mr Self Important Prick thinks he has going on that could be MORE important than this - the data is critical and it is completely muddied by the absence of sex information. And why didn't they put the question in there to begin with?
