I only know you through the videos of your brilliant talks, Louise - and then seeing people horribly harassing and insulting you on Twitter.

Sadly, and I do not know if it applies in this case so please do not take it that I am "hinting", there are also some people who are seriously mentally unwell. This includes those whose mental health has clearly suffered from the attacks they have been subjected to, attacks due to their engaging in good faith in defence of women and children.

Some of the things I have seen people get up to online, it can be really hard to tell if their actions are cold and calculated or the product of a weakened grasp on reality. I am not qualified to judge and TheInebriati is right, only time will tell.

I follow you on Twitter Louise and I have seen a few "rants" However, I have never seen anything that made me think that you were "mad, bad or dangerous to know". It is devastating when people we think we can trust turn out to be shit-weasels, snakes or pusillanimous puppets. You really do not need to apologise for letting off steam occasionally!

Those things are very, very kind of you to say. It's certainly a bizarre situation and I have NEVER - and I do mean NEVER - encountered anything like this in all my years on-line. Being deaf, I do tend to use social media differently than most in that it's a significant means of communication. Occasionally, I lack a filter, and I have gone on rants (usually after the second glass of wine, but we shall not comment ...).

I completely agree about someone dividing groups. Again, I can only speak in general terms, but there are some who will cause havoc and splits with people on either side thinking the other is all kinds of things when all that's happened is there is - and I am not exaggerating - a psychopath amidst us all.

So sorry this has happened to you, Louise. The most hurtful thing is probably having friends believe shit about you - at least that would be the worst thing for me. Hope this is resolved soon.

There is a lot of hacking going on around you on Twitter (see DM) so it looks more than a little suspicious that there are two of "you" posting here.

If nothing else, this saga has made clear that some things are just common knowledge. It has certainly ran to a script, that being: raise concerns about an abusive person > be told you are mentally ill and telling lie after lie after lie > have the abusers behaviour minimised > be told to keep quiet because you will undermine the work of others (if others actually HAD listened, I wouldn't be publicly discussing this situation now).

For clarification, this is not a TRA. Anyone can obviously behave badly. Whatever happens now doesn't frighten me - I have strong support and good friends. THANK YOU for all your kind words.

If today's outpourings on twitter are a hint of what's been happening in private, I have to say I'm less convinced by claims of ignorance than i might have been.

To those who think the obfuscation of what has been said is a convincing tactic, it's really not & even less so with the level of aggression & threats that accompany that.

We're in a fecking pandemic, maybe dial it down a few notches eh?
