I was on the WMC's website this morning to see if they had announcements about the Coronavirus situation (seeing how mass gatherings are going to be banned soon).
For those of you who are unaware of this place, it's a very large arts centre in Wales, with multiple performances inside. In terms of how well known it is, it's the equivalent of Bristol Old Vic or the Southbank Centre.
Then I saw this link
www.wmc.org.uk/en/whats-on/seasons/ffresh-cabaret/
A Drag Queen Story Time (which is supposed to be something for kids) is advertised right next to, and in the same category as 'Slut Slam' - something that's sexual, bondagey (judging by the photo) and very adult. I've read briefly who Cameryn Moore is, and the show is something that I would expect a sex shop to organise. The age limit is 16+, which I think is too young, even if they do see more explicit things online.
I just find it bizarre that something that's supposed to be children's entertainment (apparently) is even in the same category as a sex themed show ran by someone who describes herself as a 'sidewalk pornographer' amongst other things. Wtf???? Have they lost their minds??? Seems either very inappropriate or a stupid oversight.
I can totally see why someone would say 'I think you're making a big deal out of this', and I know they are separate shows, but I don't think that the lines between children's entertainment and the sexual world should be blurred, and for me, advertising them in the same section seems a little......off.
