Is this offensive or am I snowflake ?

For some reason, this tweet came up in my feed today - I find it highly offensive - I'm pro-choice and believe women should have access to safe and free abortions if they want them. But I think this tweet totally underminds the fact that 68 000 women die every year of unsafe abortions - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2709326/ .
I did actually DM the author of the tweet to let them know how offensive I thought it was - and explained as nicely as possible that I was pro-choice but that I thought it totally undermined how traumatic and damaging abortion, even chosen abortion, can be for some women and the fact that the people who die from abortion are women.

I got a reply back basically accusing me of being anti-choice and telling me it is just a joke to piss off conservatives.

I'm furious - and I know it's just a tweet and not worth getting worked up about - but I just find it so horrific.

Am I the snowflake here ?

What an idiot.

I've had abortions. I don't think an abortion is a disaster.
That is not how I would speak about it to others.

That tweet is clearly from an attention seeker hoping to get attention by way of likes and replies to her comment.

I’m a big fan of sex but no single sexual encounter is worth the inconvenience, financial costs and health risks of early pregnancy and scheduling/recovering from a TOP.

Lots of ways for women to get an orgasm that don’t risk an unwanted pregnancy, not dating penis-people being the most obvious one 🤗

Utterly disrespectful and ignorant of the feelings of many women - the complexity and depth of feelings that women experience around abortion and unwanted pregnancy , utterly missing the biological reality that a pregnant woman can feel attachment and horror at the same time.

Interesting use of the word snowflake in the thread title.

But yes, anyone who tweets glibly about abortion isn’t worth engaging with.

That tweet is written to get a rise out of people. Ignore and move on.

Oh please! It’s a male born person that identifies as trans. Do you seriously think they’re actually give a fuck about how women feel about abortion? Why have you even bothered posting this, OP. Male bodied people who ridicule women’s lives and experiences are best ignored. Why are you giving them oxygen.

I've had an abortion, and the morning after pill, a miscarriage, and late periods, and 2 kids.

All with varying levels of discomfort, pain, risk, trauma and long-term effects (TBH, the babies were obviously the worst there). I think what's offensive is being flippant about it.

Like this idea that the morning after pill is just something you can take. I found it very unpleasant, with the physical effects lasting for nearly a month - it's not something I would choose to do on a whim, it's not something to be taken lightly.

Twitter encourages this type of shit. I don't use it
