I have just discovered my childs school has a certain organisation as a contact on their website so I am spending today writing an email explaining why it should be removed.

Any suggestions of info I should include ( I have some thanks to you all) but it doesnt hurt to make sure I haven't forgotten anything.

Can someone also please confirm if I am correct in thinking that children cannot change their birth certificates r official documentation so are still legally their birth sex?

Tia

OP, out of interest, did you explain to them why you were emailing anonymously?

I absolutely understand why you wouldn't want to be identified in the current climate, especially by your DC's school.

But I wonder if the recipient would have an understanding of why a parent would want to remain anonymous, especially since the link has gone up in the first place and therefore they wouldn't see the threat to GC people.

Yes I did explain. I said I was using an alternative email account because its become very difficult to speak up about this and the Lst thing I want is to make things more difficult for my child so for now I would like to remain anonymous

And that all the information is in the public domain should they wish to investigate further

Omg my dd's school have updated a few of their policies since I last looked at them. It now says they'll be putting stonewall resources up around the school. Last year I read through their SRE stuff and there was no mention of Stonewall. Last year it also stated that one of the key learning objectives in ks1 was that only women can become pregnant and have babies. That's gone now. I don't think they're fully gone down the bad path as their new action plan includes: "consider appointing a lead person to be a stonewall champion". I am putting a lot of hope into the word "consider".

Protected characteristics have changed too. Gender reassignment is now gender reassignment and gender identity.

So that gender identity is an actual error you can helpfully point out. The law doesn’t cover gender identity.
