I just noticed that she’s retweeted the latest Janice Turner Times article. I wonder if she will be called names, threatened etc. Also would like to be a fly on the wall in the Blair household. mobile.twitter.com/Tcbooth/status/1231139649105514496

Her husband's already made comments re Self ID and seems to be on the side of common sense.

Cuntysnark · 23/02/2020 14:17

Predictably I’ve sent her a thank you card!

peanutbuttermarmite · 23/02/2020 14:23

thank goodness.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 23/02/2020 14:27

Telling comment by "Emma" - trying to downplay/divert attention from the effects of Lupron etc. She/them is put back in her box on-thread, but why would anyone - unless they had incredibly suspect motives - be against rigorous research and studying into life changing drugs used on anyone, let alone children.

Binterested · 23/02/2020 15:15

Cherie Blair was a founder member of Matrix Chambers. Karen Monaghan - the QC who has recently posted her criticism of the legal argument behind the Forstater ruling - is at Matrix Chambers.

Have these educated, clever, professional women been talking again ? Someone alert the Supreme Trans Authority because this needs to stop Grin

Yay! The comments are interesting, mostly on the side of protecting children from this madness.

TheShoesa · 23/02/2020 15:45

I really hope this is genuine, but it says lower on the twitter thread that it is not her account (and looking a bit closer there is no blue tick and only two thousand followers)

Although if it is NOT her and the real Cherie gets piled on for the retweet, it might motivate her to look into it a bit more?

NotAssigned · 23/02/2020 15:47

I think the account looks genuine. She presumably hasn't been wasting the last decade of her life on Twitter like I have. Not everybody famous seeks out a blue tick.

TheShoesa · 23/02/2020 16:18

I'm not on twitter, so don't know the rules, but have heard people mention the blue tick before as being important.

So the tweet on the thread saying it wasn't genuine was to for gullible people like me, then!

Someone lower down the thread says Cherie and Tony should be thrown out of the Labour Party for their views. That'd make for an interesting headline.

jeaux90 · 23/02/2020 16:30

Nadine Dorries has tweeted the article too. It's part of her scope so I'm relieved to see it.

Noflora · 23/02/2020 16:43

Isn't it a retweet of a post by her on her LinkedIn . Looks genuine on there.

Siameasy · 23/02/2020 17:00

I don’t think it’s fake (I wondered that too) cos people who have collaborated with her on things have tagged her in Tweets iyswim ie people who know her

Cherie and Tony are both practicing Catholics. Of course they support the Vatican view around gender identity. Why would that surprise anyone?

Imnobody4 · 23/02/2020 17:24

CherryPavlova
Not surprised at their view, surprised they're commenting, takes courage, most people don't do it.

Whatisthisfuckery · 23/02/2020 17:27

I was told at a recent media session by a BBC journo that the blue tick means only that it’s an account that has been active for a long time. Twitter no longer use the blue tick, so perfectly genuine accounts will not have a blue tick if they were set up after they stopped using it.

CherryPavlova · 23/02/2020 17:30

They aren’t cowardly though and Cherie is a strong defender of women’s rights.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 24/02/2020 07:11

It's not about being "cowardly". It is an immediate, sustained, horrific pile on to hound you into breaking, or else. Look what JK Rowling, Sharron Davies, Martina Navratilova have endured. Even if you don't give in, imagine being told you need to be violently raped/murdered every day by thousands of strangers. It has to have en effect on your MH. They will actively try to ruin your life, and if you aren't famous, they will try and dox you in order to ruin your life.

CherryPavlova · 24/02/2020 07:59

I’m not condoning the abuse some people get. I think cyberbullying because people have a different view is appalling. I do think speaking out despite this is courageous- and certainly they have experience of some pretty horrific accusations being made against them.
