Jeremy Vine describes assault on Maria MacLachlan as 'fistfight ...'

In fact, Maria was assaulted by three members of the male sex - one has since been convicted.

Her husband Alan Henness Esq. @zeno001 is currently demanding an apology from @theJeremyVine over on Twitter.

No response yet.

Could we start 'politely requesting' (being kind, obvs) an apology from Jeremy Vine & the BBC?

Wow that is some interesting rewriting of what happened.

At least his brother admits to being a clown.

It does appear that the BBC has a huge vested interest in misrepresenting facts and the law in relation to this issue. Surprising coming from an "alleged" non biased source.
I'm still waiting for a response to my 3rd complaint about BBC presenters repeatedly stating that gender is a protected characteristic. They seem to find it very hard to read the Equality Act and to be accurate about it. Maybe the word sex is just too triggering to say?

Michelleoftheresistance · 15/02/2020 17:41

……….that's an appalling piece of misinformation.

It doesn't matter if an apology gets issued later, Vine has got what he wanted, which is the spin across to listeners that GC woman are 'just as bad' and responsible, which is anti woman. Yet again.

I seethed that Lloyd whatzisface put out barefaced lies and extreme bias as fact unchallenged on the politics show this week.

The listeners hear what they are being manipulated to hear. The BBC needs putting down, it's too biased now to justify public funding.

That is a scurrilous revision of history, all of which is videotaped. Repulsive attack and repulsive rewriting of it.

Mockersisrightasusual · 15/02/2020 17:45

Retraction is too late. GPs report they still get parents spouting Wakefield Antifax crap nearly every day.

I'd hate myself if I re-victimised the victims of male violence. Victim blaming is a pretty spineless thing to do Jeremy Vine.

TaniaArse · 15/02/2020 17:51

This is pretty appalling, but the chances of getting any fairness from either Jeremy Vine or the BBC are minimal.

theflushedzebra · 15/02/2020 17:58

Jeremy Vine has swallowed gender ideology completely and utterly - but that is no excuse for spreading this sort of misinformation, as a BBC broadcaster, he should be accountable.

Maria MacLachlan was physically assaulted by a transwoman who has since been convicted of assault.

Lordfrontpaw · 15/02/2020 18:03

Anyone listening would know that an ‘altercation’ between 3 male large bodied people and a 60 year old women isn’t an altercation. It’s a cowardly attack.

Datun · 15/02/2020 18:53

That's a complete lie. And the perpetrator was convicted of battery.

Something that I'm sure Jeremy Vine knows only too well. What the fuck is wrong with him?

Well said. There is something deeply dysfunctional about a criminal justice system in which a violent assault by someone whose violent intentions were broadcast prior to the assault doesn't result in a draconian sentence.

Kilbranan · 15/02/2020 19:40

Agreed bovary esp when Kate Scottow’s fine for messages posted on twitter was bigger than the person in question who assaulted an older woman.

stumbledin · 15/02/2020 22:25

Well this is the 3rd thread where Jeremy Vine has been referred to, and I am not going to say again the total contempt I have for him as other have reassured me he isn't stupid but plays at being a hazy.

I never knew he was one of the BBC's highest presenter. I was gobsmacked when that info came out in the equal pay case.

He took over the Wright Stuff after Mathew Wright refused to apologise for a guest saying trans women are born male.

So not only is he following the woke BBC line, he has now dumbed down TWS to a remarkably silly show where he bluffs and blunders his way through patronising women and coming out with gender stereotyping.

Worse still apparently his show on C5 is extremely popular. Angry

With clowns like him being the face of BBC broadcasting is it any wonder people just swallow the stories that constantly erase women.

frazzled1 · 17/02/2020 09:08

I wonder if Jeremy Vine has responded? Hoping his take on 3 males attacking a 60 year old woman will just be forgotten?

Maria's husband's twitter includes terrifying pictures.

I will complain, this is outrageous.
When public figures spout these lies about women, my first thought is, 'so, who are you friends with?'
Or maybe I'm wrong and Vine is just a bellend who thinks that women are fair game as long as the attacker has a gender identity.
