The magnificent Elle of Twitter has brought to our attention some pithy words to ponder and discuss from our trans sister Jonathon M. Dexter. Quite thought-provoking! And such a lovely portrait, too!

Do you know, that has cleared the fog in my lady-brain completely. Thank you to that beardy dude-bro for enlightening me that what feminism needs is more males telling us what feminism is Grin

In between the usual fuckery, there were some gems on that thread.

What I find so entertaining is the adulation that the wokerati ladle onto our beauteously bearded ladyfriend Johnathan who is 10 times the woman we will ever be.

Once again women are asked to centre men in feminism: you know the struggle for women to be free of male oppression. Strangely this person does not seem to understand what feminism is.

I feel like quoting The Rules of Misogyny for some reason.

It's a beautiful and thought provoking quote. But they missed the bit about '... in between male and eunuch'. As I read it, De Beauvoir is very much taking biology as a given when she writes about how society, and civilisation, construct womanhood. It's true, it's not our biology that defines our experience of being a woman - it's society. That same biology could be given different status. But the biology is what frames and defines us as female. What comes after is about culture and much more.

I hate the gun pointing memes saying Shut the Fuck up T*. How could anyone think that added credibility to a point rather than just make them look like violent bullies.

NonnyMouse1337 · 14/02/2020 07:01

it is civilization as a whole that produces this creature, intermediate between male and eunuch, which is described as feminine.

Oh my, that must certainly be awkward for Trans Privilege Activists.

That thread leaves the reader in no doubt that T*RF is a misogynistic slur and term of abuse. Likewise the underlying hate of women.
