Where is that enquiry into ROGD in children? Journalist fobbed off again.

Caroline ffiske put in a Freedom of Information request about the enquiry we thought Penny Mordaunt had promised 18 months ago. It was refused, so she appealed and they are standing by their original decision.
This all stinks to high heaven to me; anyone else?
I shall be asking my MP to pass on my questions about this.

This is what happens when you get top down social engineering, this clearly didn't have the correct outcome so will never be made public.

FOIrequester · 05/02/2020 10:09

Next step is the Information Commissioner who can decide if the exemptions have been applied appropriately.

Takes forever though.

GeordieTerf · 05/02/2020 10:11

Did the inquiry actually happen? Or did it just never happen?

ChateauMyself · 05/02/2020 10:20

Sounds like the ‘inquiry’ has not yet (never will) happened.

Excellent stalling tactics.
‘Going out to tender’ - what is it, a building project...

Yup, building a case for ‘nothing to see here’.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 05/02/2020 10:22

I'm guessing the politicos in favor of self ID won't ask the public for input again, now that we've made it clear that we don't want it.

rogdmum · 05/02/2020 10:33

Caroline Ffiske is rather wonderful and isn’t giving up on this. I agree (obviously) that MPs need to be made aware of the issue. Eventually it will blow up and they won’t be able to say they were unaware. I’ve written to Keir Starmer on the back of his non answer on Monday’s webchat to my question about the inquiry - doubtful that he will respond, but the more often it is documented, the better.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 05/02/2020 10:35

They will still say they were unaware, and pass the blame.

from the article:
"Well, it is time to stop waiting, to start calling them out and to call again, more loudly this time, for that public inquiry. We need answers from Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, and from Liz Truss, Minister for Women and Equalities.

After so many people have resigned from the NHS’s gender clinics, including Marcus Evans, governor of the Tavistock Foundation – whose psychotherapist wife Susan quit the clinic in 2004 – after so many people have become whistle-blowers and raised concerns about how we are treating gender-confused young people, when will the Government start taking the issue seriously?"

Its good that Ministers beyond Women & Equalities are being challenged. Matt HancockMP Minister for Health should be pushed to ensure a thorough investigation takes place as it concerns The Tavistock GIDS a NHS childrens service. There are whistleblowers who are professionals from the NHS service so the framework for invesigation should be in that context.

Lumene · 05/02/2020 11:13

Maybe an MP would ask a PPQ

Languishingfemale · 05/02/2020 11:46

They are trying to disguise the fact that any enquiry will be full of individuals and organisations making their living / profits or personally invested in trans issues. Plus all the civil servants compromised by all their Stonewall / hospitality awards. It will be biased from the start.
But will have lined the pockets of all the above.

theflushedzebra · 05/02/2020 12:31

I have an exceptional dislike of Penny Morduant now.

She hasn't done what she promised with regard to the ROGD Inquiry.

She couldn't even turn up to a MN webchat because the women here are so scary, with their scary questions about women's rights and children's safeguarding.

She then does that stupid speech at the Pink Awards saying " I've seen the results of the GRA consultation...yay trans rights" - well Penny, why couldn't we all see it then? Why didn't you put your money where your mouth is and publish it?

Treacherous woman - the worst. To call herself Women and Equalities Minister, and then completely sell out women and girls. Ugh.

MrsSnippyPants · 05/02/2020 17:51

"Maybe an MP would ask a PPQ"

I have no idea how to make that happen Lumene but that would be something to aim for.

Anybody know how?

They have a massive problem. They have a noisy, dramatic and threatening government funded political lobby breathing down their necks who say to even agree to inquire into this is Transphobic. They cannot do anything about this without that lobby screaming its head off. They clearly would rather females and children just got harmed quietly under the radar than face up to this.

This is why governments and the civil service shouldn't get into bed with political lobby groups. Or fund them. Because it compromises them, and prevents them from doing their unbiased public duty.

This is why, once the shit truly hits the fan, so many agencies will be found to be compromised past all recovery. It's going to be a mess.

Michelleoftheresistance · 05/02/2020 18:09

Rather like the consultation, they're now between a rock and a hard place.

Option A:
Bring out the consultation results/do the enquiry and have to admit there's a massive problem/failure of public duty, take the lid off the utter mess they've allowed to happen, try to sort out messed up policies, deal with the screams of transphobia and an angry general public alongside an even angrier extremist lobby.

Option B:
Refuse to do the consultation results/enquiry and thereby prove total failure of duty, bias and being in the stranglehold of a biased political lobby they paid for and nurtured, while declaring full support for removing rights from female humans and de safeguarding children, and medical negligence. Hold on tight for as long as possible and wait for the compensation claims and public scandal to start.

They're going for Option C:
Do nothing. Don't talk about it, don't look at it, hope it goes away and in the mean time let said lobby slide stuff in because stopping them gets ugly and scary very fast.

MrsSnippyPants · 05/02/2020 18:47

I don't want you to be right Michelle but sadly I think you are spot on Sad
Oh for a politician with principles......

GeordieTerf · 05/02/2020 19:01

Can't a Joanne Cherry, Joan McAlpine, or David Davis request it (since they're MPs themselves)?

Michelleoftheresistance · 05/02/2020 19:04

Considering we've been told about how the extremist lobby got politicians on side via the quiet conversations behind closed doors over cups of tea, it's crossed my mind that they may know where metaphorical bodies are buried. There's reasons why politicians are so utterly terrified and it can't all be because of being called names on Twitter.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 05/02/2020 19:07

It's because this is coming down from very high up.

EleanorScott · 05/02/2020 19:17

This is a very timely discussion for me - I'm fascinated and really concerned by this.

As I've just posted on the thread about the Emily Thornberry webchat:

I've written a short blog piece about today's webchat. I was hoping to compare Thornberry's answer to the question put by @rogdmum (about whatever happened to 'The Mordaunt Inquiry') with that given by Keir Starmer; but Emily Thornberry didn't answer it at all.

I'll post it up shortly. Would anyone like the link?

rogdmum · 05/02/2020 19:20

Yes, please Eleanor Grin

EleanorScott · 05/02/2020 19:35

Here it is

eleanorscottarchaeology.com/els-blog/2020/2/5/emily-thornberrys-mumsnet-webchat-amp-the-childrens-safeguarding-inquiry-not-worth-a-mention

All comments happily accepted - I didn't have a huge amount of time to spend on this, so probably could be improved.

theflushedzebra · 05/02/2020 19:46
