On 7th March in Manchester lecturer and writer Una McCormack will be discussing the work of science fiction writers Ursula K. Le Guin and Vonda N. McIntyre.
These two women, who were lifelong friends, were pivotal to the expansion and development of feminist science fiction in the 1970s and 1980s, participating in the main debates that reshaped sf at the time. This talk will cover some of their key novels, such as Le Guin’s The Left Hand of Darkness and The Dispossessed and McIntyre’s The Exile Waiting and Starfarers, to explore their visions of the future.
Una has written many science fiction novels including both Star Trek and Doctor Who as well as writing for Big Finish series of Doctor Who audio adventures. Her most recent novels are The Undefeated and Star Trek Picard: The Last Best Hope.
