Thanks to Fred Sargeant on twitter for bringing my attention to this amazing piece of writing. Enjoy!

"Transplainer on lesbians, why they're all suffering from unresolved internalized gender dysphoria and why they need to shut up from a trans extremist who calls himself a "top writer on feminism.

Into the Heart of TERFness by @wyatt_gates t.co/vcJ2QZRo6z "

You know when you are a precocious teen and write angsty, angry poetry; and what you think are deep and masterful treatises on the unfairness of life, the universe and everything...?

May I present Wyatt.

Redshoeblueshoe · 17/01/2020 11:24

Yes Buzz I can feel the stampy little feet to be honest I couldn't manage the whole thing

Basdan · 17/01/2020 11:26

I am more and more believing that a transwoman who calls me a TERF just completely proves the point that they don't know the first thing about what it "feels like" to be a woman. Every time I see/hear "I feel like a woman" I think that to me what it feels like to be a woman currently is frustrated and terrified of the way the trans movement is going. That's my definition of me as a woman going forward.

aliasundercover · 17/01/2020 11:56

You people should be grateful that a man has taken the time to explain womanhood to you - especially the lesbians who will benefit from his instructions on how to be a lesbian properly.

NotTerfNorCis · 17/01/2020 12:03

Well that's delightfully bonkers.

Cookieflavoredbiscuit · 17/01/2020 13:39

I found it hilarious enough to get through. I liked the bit about "male presenting body." I've been a wannabe linguistics geek for yonks, but I've never seen language shift so quickly before my eyes as with this lot.

Also, if he thinks lesbians are dealing with unresolved gender dysphoria, he couldn't call them "cis," could he?

Michelleoftheresistance · 17/01/2020 15:56

Ooh look, a male telling females that they just haven't had the right cock yet.

Again.

I read the TRA comments on one of Jane Clare Jones' articles yesterday and all they boil down to really, over and over again, is about wanting to be a woman (whatever that is) while simultaneously broadcasting 'I hate female people'. The total lack of self awareness is boggling.

allmywhat · 17/01/2020 16:42

I understand that Medium writers are financially rewarded for clicks so here's a link for anyone who doesn't want to reward this woman for that spooge puddle of an article.

Like Rik from The Young Ones. "Felicity, Felicity, you fill me with electricity....."

JellySlice · 17/01/2020 16:52

He didn't need all that waffle. He summarised what he wants in one phrase about half-way through: "in an ideal world they’d just be quiet".

JellySlice · 17/01/2020 16:54

Is the writer a woman? I've no idea.

nauticant · 17/01/2020 16:58

Thanks allmywhat, I didn't want to give a click to such a peculiar article.

However, I might withdraw my thanks once I've looked at the archived article.

RuffleCrow · 17/01/2020 17:01

"Neil, Neil, Orange Peel...."

"Oh Cliff, sometimes it feels as though you really were a Cliff. When people keep trying to push you over it..."

Grin
nauticant · 17/01/2020 17:03

My verdict: The author is someone who should be kept away from women.

StrangeLookingParasite · 17/01/2020 17:27

Look at all the straw men. So many.

FemaleAndLearning · 17/01/2020 18:23

Thanks for the non medium link All.

I've not really heard about women calling transmen gender traitors before. I guess that means it's made up!

I don't identify as a TERF so it's hard to read it with any seriousness 'just saying'.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 17/01/2020 19:04

Based on that article identifying as a woman seems to mean feeling a simmering resentment towards women that can barely be held in check. In rather the same way many teenagers resent their parents, but without the almost guaranteed to grow out of it element.

RedToothBrush · 17/01/2020 19:20

I;ll save everyone some time with a simple summary

Lesbians are sinister for saying no. I don't like being told no. What I say and think is more important than anyone else.

The end.

Thats a few minutes of your life you can now spend doing something more useful, productive, intellectually stimulating and pleasurable. Like cleaning the toilet.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 17/01/2020 19:40

wyatt knows ALL THE THINGS doesn't he?

wise Wyatt. Thank heavens he's here to put us right

Ereshkigal · 17/01/2020 19:47

Based on that article identifying as a woman seems to mean feeling a simmering resentment towards women that can barely be held in check.

Surely not? Say it ain't so!

StrangeLookingParasite · 17/01/2020 21:01

Dude is weird, looking at his other pieces on Medium. Inconsistent.

allmywhat · 18/01/2020 12:53

Is the writer a woman? I've no idea.

I'm 100% certain they are male but have no idea how they identify, thought I'd better err on the side of genderfluidity after calling their article a spooge puddle.

NotAtMyAge · 18/01/2020 16:21

A good proportion of very solid rebuttals in the comments, I'm glad to say.
