Interesting episode of Suffragette City Radio discussing transgender ideation with Jungian analyst Lisa Marchiano.

One of a growing number of clinicians finding the courage to speak publicly about her concerns regarding the alarming rise in teenage girls seeking referrals to gender identity clinics.

I've seen some very good stuff from her via Twitter for a while now. I wish more clinicians would show as much backbone.

You should check out her podcast This Jungian Life. She has a really interesting discussion about this subject with her 2 other analyst colleagues.

I find the concept of The Shadow invaluable in understanding what is happening with transgender identities

Thanks for the recommendation, I've downloaded some of her podcast episodes.

She's brilliant. Mad to think that she comes from the same ideological soup as Jordan Peterson eh?

I don't think she does.

I find Jung's theories incredibly interesting and valuable for understanding human behaviour and belief. But Jung has not been popular or mainstream within academia for a very very long time.

There is no ideological soup around Jung, just isolated academics dusting off some very unfashionable texts and ideas and working out what they might have to say about humans in the 21st century.

I love Lisa Marchiano's work. I have no time for Jordan Peterson's. These two have nothing in common except for a body of shared source material that is around 70 years old.
