Thanks - that's a well-written piece, as far as it goes. I think though what's missing is that this is not just an argument about labels. If short people were demanding to be recognized as being tall, there would be little concern I think. But "woman" is a legally and socially important category in a way that "tall" is not. We have sex segregation in some circumstances for very good reasons, and that some men are attempting to dismantle this segregation, either by claiming to belong to the other category or by removing the segregation is a big deal.
