Need help navigating Mumsnet threads

Not a FWR thread so sorry.

I find MN so hard to navigate. Sometimes I don't log in for a day or two and threads I'm watching have moved on several pages. The "I'm watching" option doesn't help because you only get the last 4 or 5 posts.

I've heard people say they're "bookmarking" and I have started using the "bookmark" option -- but how does one find that bookmark again? I've looked all over the main Talk page and don't see the option, "go to your bookmarks". I thought it might be the "I'm on" link but that is really just literally, the threads I've posted on. So not helpful.

I've been on many forums over the years and most take you directly and automatically to the page or post you last read.

This is not a complaint, just expressing a bit of frustration! I do like to start reading where I last left off but waste so much time guessing or going back and back and back...
Thank you.

This might help:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/3173827-highlighting-posts-from-OP-in-threads

It's a setting to present an OP's posts in a different colour.

Thanks, nauticant, and AuntieStella. Interesting that it's been asked for before.

The OP's posts should be a different colour so easiest way to just read them is to select show all messages and then scroll down and pick out the coloured posts. It's not that hard

No, it's not that hard, Spartacus. On a really long thread, though, it does takes ages! It would be nice to be able to skip 14 pages of comments and just read the updates.

That's not too hard to do in the browser - again just by using standard browser functionality.
Click show all messages, then use CtrlF /Find on this page or whatever applies on your browser and enter the OPs name and browse through the hits. That will pick up other posters referring to the OP by name but that's probably not too many.

Same sort of thing if you want to find your posts.

My email alerts have started up again.

So maybe there was a temporary glitch.

Or I did click on something without realising.

and equally click the reverse without realising!
