Saw this first thing this morning and can't see a thread about it. I know everyone seems to hate the daily mail but so pleased to see articles like this in mainstream news.

As I saw someone point out on facebook, somewhat ironic that this article appears on the dm site, next to endless sidebars full of nearly-naked objectified women.

MrsEvedder · 05/12/2019 18:40

Looking on my phone so can't see any half naked women! but it seems well written and really good to see it getting talked about even if it is in the dm.

The Daily Mail gets a lot of stick, but it has been really good on some women’s issues.

MrsEvedder · 05/12/2019 19:03

@Milanimilani I agree, there's been a few recently. I'll have to keep an eye out and see if it's always the same writer.

I don't read the DM, but I don't hate it. It does some good journalism, especially on women's issues. But the Guardian. I do hate the Guardian. Because it simultaneously holds some kind of moral high ground, and throws women under the bus, regularly.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 05/12/2019 19:16

Aye, I'm not saying I hate it. DM has printed some articles that have been acutely observant, on surprising topics, too. Their piece on refugees in Europe was, I would swear, the most cutting satire I've ever seen.

Uncompromisingwoman · 05/12/2019 19:24

In the last couple of years the DM has covered women's issues very well (to my surprise). All credit to them.
And like others, I will not forgive the Guardian for openly throwing women under a bus and silencing our voices and discussions for so long. Any reverse ferret in the face of the anti democratic, totalitarian forces that they have openly favoured is far too little and too late.
