Sexual Comments In The Gym!

BBC news website.Young girls being approached by males. Inappropriate comments ,and being made to feel uncomfortable by men who see the Gym as "their space!) Has anyone else found this ? Was thinking of joining but this has put me off a little TBH!

And the noises they make in the sauna.

What? What noises?

I had a terrible experience in the woman's changing room at my old gym about 6 months ago. So I changed gyms and I avoid the changing rooms/locker rooms and showers like the plague. I just drive home stinky and shower there.

Beyond my locker room experience and being hit on maybe three times out of about 15 years of consistently going to the gym the most annoying thing is the irritating habit many gym-goers seem to engage in starting about 5yrs ago. They're all on their phones - just sitting on machines or sitting with free weights scattered around them. I always ask people to move but when they refuse I go to the desk to have them pushed along.

Fortunately for me I look pretty angry when I exercise so no one really bothers me - if you don't have a resting angry face when exercising just try to look unwelcoming and definitely wear headphones (appear to be unable to hear anything/focused).

But get to the gym - you'll feel better, you'll sleep better, and you'll be stronger for it. 😊
