As a youngster although he had dolls and other traditionally girls’ toys, he always favoured lego, hotwheels, Power Rangers, football and go-carting.

When he was around 13 he came out to his mum and dad as lesbian. But four years later he realised he wasn’t, he was a boy trapped in a girl’s body.

Jacob, from Rutherglen, near Glasgow, said: “It was something an ex-girlfriend’s dad said to me which made me think ‘wait a minute’. That’s when it all made sense.

“I started Googling transsexuals and found a YouTuber called Jamie. Everything he explained made sense to me.

"He was into football, so was I. He wanted to be more masculine, so did I. He fought with people when he had to wear dresses, so did I.”

I liked football, being masculine and kicked off big time if I had to wear a dress. Doesn’t make me a guy though, it just makes me a woman who likes football, has a more masculine presentation and hates wearing dresses. It’s so much easier than chopping off healthy body parts, taking hormones my body isn’t built to handle and potentially having myself butchered to create a blow up flesh tube located on the front of my groin.

Quite, Rufus. I am astonished that them as fancy themselves progressive can read someone saying their journey of enlightenment was initiated by a bigot telling them that it was only really ok for men to be attracted to women, not women. And lo, they realized the truth of that. WTF.

I think my favourite thing about Jamie, btw, is the way Jamie reads out sensible statements in an incredulous tone, as though that somehow proves they are wrong. Fox and Owl do the same.
