It’s frivolous compared to most of this board, but I want to tell someone so you’re it!

I went to see Shakespears Sister in concert tonight. Two 60+ women fronting a band (which included a female drummer and bass player) singing brilliant songs about the female experience. Both are insanely talented and have a look and style that is all their own and nothing to do with the male gaze.

Fuck me, they were proper rock stars and it was magnificent.

Not only are they still going (I think they restarted after a couple of decades) but they’ve written new stuff and it was brilliant. It was such a buzz to see older women performing like that. They were doing their thing and had zeros fucks to give.
