Greater Manchester Hate Crime Consultation

For anyone living in Greater Manchester, there is a consultation on hate crime currently running. I've completed it already.

www.gmconsult.org

I've asked for the following:

Statistics on crimes to be collected using sex at birth as well as gender identity.

Guidance on free speech and where this crosses the line in to a hate crime.

Very clear guidance for the police, based on legal advice and not training from trans support groups and lobbyists, on what is a hate crime.

I'm in no way as knowledgeable as the wonderful people on these boards, but I though I needed to have my say. It would be great if anyone else was able to contribute as well, and may be put it better than I did. Grin

Very clear guidance ...on what is a hate crime.

Hate crime is not the problem. It is the dubious concept of a "Hate Incident" which is whatever anyone says it is with no requirement to provide any evidence.

I've informed them that Under the Equality Act 2010 Gender Identity is not a protected characteristic.
I'm really not bothered by their definition of a Hate Crime. I'd probably get arrested for wearing my AHF hoodie.
