TERFs aren’t feminists. Or rather, they are, but only in the same way that the Westboro Baptist Church are Christians – they’re using it as a front for their bigotry and don’t care who they hurt.

I was kicking myself that I didn’t know. I already knew about SWERFs. I didn’t know that TERFs and SWERFs went hand in hand. And I hadn’t looked into SWERFery as I didn’t want to know.

I still don’t quite understand how I got sucked in, even temporarily. My mental state aside, I guess it’s what I have coined “ingrained transphobia.”

SWERF stands for 'sex worker exclusionary feminist'. It's not something anyone calls themselves. This article explains what a 'swerf' is, although of course it's pretty biased:

Sex worker exclusionary radical feminism is based on the idea that all sex work is inherently oppressive. Fucking hell. Didn't make it past the vulnerable and mental health at rock bottom bit. Everyone and anyone can suffer from poor mental health - doesn't mean we've been robbed of every fucking brain cell we have.

Women have the right to consent to/ or refuse the genitals they touch.
Young women and girls should be free of predators asking them about tampons.

Is SWERFery a 'thing'?

It’s really quite something when to be a feminist means expressing outright hatred for other women who want to end exploitation (ie the SWERF rhetoric). God, men must be posing their pants at what they have achieved there.

I was looking for her rebuttal of GC ideas, but all she's got is 'terfs are evil and mystical gender essences are real.

I was too. I think it’s the first time I’ve read a woman’s testimony where she started to listen to GC arguments, began to wake up, then decided she couldn’t bear this “awful bigoted hate fest” any longer and put her fingers back in her ears without giving the tiniest hint of what she disagreed with or any rationale for rejecting the arguments.

I have read so many threads on FWR and articles and tweet threads by Dr Jane Clare Jones looking at Trans Privilege arguments point by point, dissecting the steps that got them to the conclusion that Trans privilege is true feminism, and aside from a lot of 'WTF are these people thinking?' In conclusion, it's been a thoroughly honest affair, trying to see if the arguments stack up. There's no point playing with straw men.

I have never read anything promoting Trans privilege that claimed to 'debunk' or even simply describe pro-woman's space ideas, that even got close. I have lost count of the times I've read feminists explaining to the authors of these fantasy arguments that they haven't understood the most basic things.

Yeah I have never ever seen a truly convincing account of why the TRA logic makes any sense whatsoever. It absolutely doesn’t stand up to scrutiny and even the professors who peddle it like Sally Hines cannot explain their own arguments

She obviously has some issues. Anyone claiming to be a surrendered wife should have some counselling to work on their self-esteem rather than trying to sell their warped perception of reality as something that others should also do.

I can't say that the combination of "surrendered wife" and "desperately wants to please men even if she doesn't know them, will happily throw every other woman on earth under the bus in order to do so and chastise them for not doing it themselves preemptively" is a surprise. Women with that mindset are never happy with just abasing themselves to men, they always have to try to force the rest of us into doing the same.

I agree with TheProdigalKittenReturns, it doesn't seem like she has thought this conclusion out for herself but has selected the people to tell her what to think. No rebuttals against GC arguments. It was a depressing read and if it wasn't for the other things referred to I'd have assumed she was only a teenager.
