So the staff survey is out - and one of the questions is "what is your gender?"
There is the option to "self-declare" with - oh happy day - a comments box.

I put "I don't have a gender. My sex is female."

Any other NHS staff up for joining me?

I think this is the question. I’m not sure whether to self describe or just “prefer not to say”. If everyone did that who doesn’t feel they fit a gender identity it makes the data pretty pointless.
I agree that “self describing” may get amalgamated as a “trans” response. Hmmmm

I did mine weeks ago but have had two more letters reminding me to do it. So have colleagues. I'm guessing they just send them to everyone (ignore this letter if you have completed yours). The waste is shameful.
