Meet Jack - the plumber who has gone down the rabbit hole

Jack appears to be a plumber who took his girlfriend's challenge to join Twitter and find out what is going on for himself. His journey has been causing much entertainment on Twitter

Jack has the perfect gremlin cat icon for the journey he's undertaking.

RiotAndAlarum · 15/10/2019 11:23

I've seen him! TBH, I thought he was suspiciously good at asking the right questions, BUT maybe that's simply because so many other people are so very willfully not-understanding.

Whether you know what you're doing or are a genuine ingénu, welcome, Jack! (And good work, to his girlfriend!)

boatyardblues · 15/10/2019 13:10

I have to hand it to Jack. This pithy riposte made me laugh.

I would be amazed if it isn't a sock account of a TRA. Who is this "girlfriend" for example, how does she know so much, yet him so little.
I smell a rat.

nauticant · 15/10/2019 14:00

It's a little too good. Could be genuine but for now I'll just take it as an entertainment, which it does well.

ClosdesMouches · 15/10/2019 14:20

I'm another who is rather cynical about this account.
It started to pop up on my Twitter on Sunday evening, I believe. My first reaction was to follow it, but something niggled at me and I decided not to.
I'm going to sit back and watch it first.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 15/10/2019 14:25

Does seem a little faux naive.

BertBox · 15/10/2019 14:38

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks there's something a little bit unbelievable about it. I'm enjoying it though.

Aspley · 15/10/2019 16:31

Yep, they are good fun and some of the replies to the TRA are good, pointing out the flaws in their bullshit is very easy if one takes on a "i am a bloke and I don't care" attitude, women are often desperately trying to be nice.

Maybe a GC sock.

GingerCake2018 · 15/10/2019 17:05

If you scroll right to jack's earliest "tweets and replies" they mostly start on the 14th October, but there are 2 replies from his account from July that are clearly gender critical and had some knowledge of what was going on already.

Looks like a parody to me. And not a very good one.

ripleyschoice · 21/10/2019 22:16

FYI. I was Jack. A social experiment to see and compare how men are treated versus women in the gender critical community.

It all got into a whirlwind so didn't end up as discreet or less knowledgeable as I planned.

ripleyschoice · 21/10/2019 22:17

I just wish I'd said this from my own account :)

getupgonow · 22/10/2019 03:19

Good work Smile

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 22/10/2019 08:32

I saw ‘Jack’ (that’s one ugly cat there) and did wonder if it was a genuine account or someone trying to lure GC followers for goodness knows what purposes!

Haha

RoyalCorgi · 22/10/2019 09:01

Wow, Ripley, what an interesting experiment. Depressingly confirms what we all thought, though.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 22/10/2019 10:41

I see Alison Moyet is back for more on twitter.

Annasgirl · 22/10/2019 10:57

well done Ripley. Depressing but great you did it (you can scientifically say what we all know now, although I'm not sure science works as a riposte anymore!.
