Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Sweden has a mansplaining helpline. Do you think it's a good idea?

It's also for giving general advice on sexism. Not surprising, it seems to be the subject of ridicule from the West.

It's this video from 6:45 (I don't recommend watching any other part of the video btw other than this bit)

Isn't Sweden part of the West? It was a temporary project in 2016 where men and women could call a certain line and discuss their experience with harassment in the workplace.

I imagined it really differently from the headlines. Sort of like a digital men’s shed, where aimless, retired men sat at phones waiting for someone to ring them up and ask questions about the best way of installing drainage pipes or why women shouldn’t drive SUVs.

I might be a little disappointed that it was a serious project.

I like your idea Dance.
It was reported that the most common call was lenghty ones from men who were offended that the term "mansplaining" had been used. www.svt.se/nyheter/inrikes/medverkande-unionens-jourtelefon-mansplainad

Ah, thanks champagne - so rather than being a helpline for women to complain about mansplaining (as I read OP's post to imply), in fact it was a general helpline for people who wanted to talk about harassment in the workplace, which then found itself inundated with calls from men complaining they'd been unjustly accused of mansplaining.

My, that world's tiniest violin I borrowed on another thread is getting quite a workout. Grin
