There's a men's movement dedicated to supporting women's rights - here's a link to their next meeting.

Kiri Tunks of WPUK is their guest speaker.

This is a brilliant development. Please share the details!

This is great. Thanks OP.

Excellent Grin. I also saw Michael Conroy calling for men to organise and support women.

By critical reflection men can expand our understanding of what it means to 'be a man', to value emotions and diversity of self-expression, to prize caring, nurturing and openness.

Yes!!!!!! So glad to see this event. I can't describe how much it pleases me to see this. I hope they have many more held up and down the country. This is fantastic. Smile

Fantastic.

Be interesting to see if this meeting attracts the same kind of response as the WPUK ones have done.

I'm going to guess no. I wonder why that might be ...

WomanBornNotWorn · 26/09/2019 11:58

After venue and guest expenses they are donating ticket income to WPUK.

There were a handful of men at the meeting, I think mainly Labour officials.

It seems (maybe because they're our husbands, dads, sons etc ?) they're realising what we're on about and joining the conversation.

I hope that no matter who joins, it will stay polite, civilised and reasonable.

We must be seen to rise above the behaviour we witnessed first hand on Monday.

When I was still on Twitter I was following Michael. He is a really good guy, spot on in his analyses.

Absolutely agree.

I wonder if they will be labelled as TERFS and face abuse on Twitter and protests?

What? You think that GC men who organise won’t suffer the same kind of backlash as GC women who organise?

Yeah, I think that too. It’d be funny if it weren’t so damned not funny, right?

Aspley · 26/09/2019 19:22

Nice one, the game is up once the boys join in.
The TRA will not dare treat a men's meeting like they have done to women's ones, will they?
Come on gay men, your turn next. Wake up to Stonewall betraying your lesbian sisters (and you too, though most of you have decided not to notice).

ChattyLion · 26/09/2019 19:58

What a fantastic looking event. Very happy to see men giving thought to (the toxic aspects of) masculinity together, and hearing from women too. Tickets are a bargain, hope it’s packed out and goes really well.

littlecabbage · 26/09/2019 20:32

Wow, wish this was near me. I'd ask my DH to attend.

mcduffy · 26/09/2019 20:50

Brilliant and so well-thought out. DH would go to a local one.
