I caught this on the radio this morning, there was a government minister on (didn't catch who) outlining the main concerns in relation to domestic violence services that would be focused on.

I don't know very much about Nicole or Standing Together but the government minister specifically mentioned that a) reducing domestic violence against women and girls was a priority, along with ensuring the domestic violence hill gets through parliament and b) Nicole has stated that managing the 'LGBT' demand for services is one of the difficult challenges she foresees.

It doesn't seem to have attracted much attention due to other political stuff happening today.

Dedicated LGBT provision, Nicole. Either designate a proportional percentage as LGBT provisions (and thereby provide women with choice) or set up specialist provision, go nuts, employ LGBT staff, make them centres of support and excellence. (And provide women with choice.)

The piece I heard seemed to suggest that separate LGBT shelters was one of the options being considered. I've not found anything else about it anywhere though.
