Esprit Blouses copy - WTF?!

So... I clicked through from a promo email to have a look at the new collection of blouses at Esprit (one of my favourite clothing lines) and ended up browsing the lifestyle description blurb at the bottom of the page and couldn't quite believe what I was reading...

www.esprit.co.uk/womenswear/clothes/blouses

The blouse is to us what the shirt is to men. Yeah, define us in terms of men, won't you? Hmm

The time has come. In a few days time you'll be launching your own little company. The basic idea of offering modern flower arrangements, confectionery and pastries for weddings and parties has been with you forever – now you've finally taken the plunge! Does it have to be a 'little' company?!

This morning you have an important meeting with a supplier, who wants to show you some particularly exclusive roses. Dressed in a black, cotton mix stretch blouse and skinny jeans you meet the gentleman in your shop and go through his product range.

And the next day... In a crinkle blouse with stylish print you stand in the dealer forecourt admiring your new van.

And so it goes on...
Who writes this crap?

I haven't dared read the copy on the other pages yet Confused

Oh yes, MyCats... is it Women and Home (or Good Housekeeping??....my hairdresser always plonks them in front of me when I visit) that always has a feature on "inspiring women in business".
Always ladies who have a little craft/sewing/interior decor/baking/party-planning /photography etc. business.

*Edit...no disrespect to someone who sets up a business (genuinely).
But what about the beautician setting up her own salon, or the home care worker who goes from being employed to setting up her won agency?
It's always terribly naice and subsidised by having no desperate need for a second income at home.

Whereas those of us who need to work hard to keep our mortgages/kids in clothes/ car on the road..... well, that's not really catalogue friendly, is it?

Hence, we in the FWR section.

I would suggest you view their Twitter page and comment appropriately on each of their blouse tweets. 😉😂

This thread has really lifted my spirits this afternoon and reminded me why I like MN so much. Please, please do tweet some of these along with screenshots of your source material. I can’t remember his Twitter handle, but these would be right up the street of that guy who skewers all these fluffy women tropes on Twitter - is it manwhocan?
