You may already know this, but Dr Em in her excellent and horrifying essay "Tumblr, Porn and Teenage girls" uncommongroundmedia.com/tumblr-porn-and-teenage-girls-dr-em-banned-from-medium/ referred in passing to the poem Cupcakes and Scones by Hollie McNish and it resonated with a lot of concerns I have about current social mores

Sick. No wonder my teen dd 'identifies as' gay, and 'identifies as' non-binary. Anything to escape or avoid these hyper-sexualised abusive expectations.

The poem is excellent. So many people just do not see it. When I've expressed discomfort with the idea of playing at being little girls, I've been pooh-poohed, "It's just a bit of harmless fun".

Excellent poem, and delivery. Thanks for sharing. Very pertinent, along with Dr Em's fantastic writing, with the news that Epstein has dodged justice.

The world sometimes feels like a giant Pitcairn Island the way young women are treated. Shame humanity doesn't live up to its potential.
