Definition of woman... oh wait

I found this little gem on Twitter this morning. Is it me or is "the crazy" getting crazier...? I think Fionne gave up and grey-rocked in the end.

I'm not usually stunned by the kooky theories of TRAs but this is next level.

🙄 Or maybe a woman is someone who naturally produces the whole range of female sex hormones.

DpWm · 14/07/2019 14:08

The Tavistock found that injecting males with Estrogen did not improve their dysphoria/depression/state of mind and cross sex hormones reduce bone development and bodily performance overall so people who artificially take estrogen (and other female hormones) do not have "bodies and brains that respond best to an estrogen blah blah'... The estrogen makes them worse.

As for women on T, their bodies don't perform better either, they are more likely to get cancer.

Yep, new level of head fuckery.

MagneticSingularity · 14/07/2019 14:56

It’s Science though innit? Just reduce or take away a few bits here and increase or add a few bits there and we’ve got the target thing; well ok, the target thing with some things reduced and some things increased and you need a lifetime of drugs and medical interventions to maintain the corporal fiction. Nope, it’s still not and never can be quite the thing it trying to be. Maybe one day it can be when we successfully manage to do whole brain transplants into other bodies but then, the original owners of those bodies might raise a few objections.

LangCleg · 14/07/2019 14:59

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

It's taken them almost five years by my counting, but they've finally realised a circular definition isn't a definition and this - this! - is what they've come up with?

GirlDownUnder · 14/07/2019 15:52

Ummm, Huston I see a problem.

What if, and I know this is crazy talk, you tinker with your endocrine system and you don't 'respond best', does that mean you're not truely trans!?¿ 😱

Or is a heart attack, brittle bones, or atrophied uterus all just gravy?

Doyoumind · 14/07/2019 16:01

I'd be very surprised it they know much, if anything about the endocrine system. It's bloody complicated and an in depth knowledge is well beyond me.

donquixotedelamancha · 14/07/2019 16:44

What if, and I know this is crazy talk, you tinker with your endocrine system and you don't 'respond best', does that mean you're not truely trans!?

I think that's her point. She seems to be saying that transvestites or those who just 'identify' while not even trying to pass are not really trans.

Of course this will be just as bigoted as the traditional definition of womanhood.

taggers123 · 14/07/2019 16:56

Definition:-A woman is simply born a woman, any further engineering to accomplish the same endpoint isn't the real deal. Women are truly brilliant-from a man who knows nothing because his wife does!!

MagneticSingularity · 14/07/2019 17:03

GirlDownUnder Right? This isn’t going to go down at all well with those insisting they shouldn’t have to do anything to their bodies because those bodies are female regardless of physiology is it? Back to the gulag for you Elodie.

Hamster00 · 14/07/2019 17:03

My favourite bit is the respond best to an estrogen-dominant endocrine system

So dragging out my little leaflet from my Elleste Solo box.

"You should see your doctor more often for checkups.

*increased risk of developing blood clots (thrombosis)
*high blood pressure
*a liver disorder, such as a benign liver tumour
*diabetes
*gallstones
*migraine or severe headaches
*a disease of the immune system that affects many organs of the body
*epilepsy
*asthma
*a very high level of fat in your blood
*fluid retention due to cardiac or kidney problems.

It then goes on to say:

The risk of stroke is about 1.5 times higher in HRT users than non-users.

Side effects:
Feeling sick, stomach cramps, headache, changes i weight, odema, mood changes

Indigestion, gallstones, gallbladder disease, feeling dizzy, migraine, leg cramps, increase in blood pressure.

Discolouration of the skin, painful reddish skin nodules, rash wiith target-shaped reddening or sores.

(I've left out all the effects on women).

I take 6mg of this daily, and will for the rest of my life. I have to be checked regularly, not just for levels in my blood but for my blood pressure, liver/kidney function, tryglycerides etc.

I've already lost my gallbladder since (I'm convinced) starting on HRT years ago.

Doesn't really sound like the body and brain "respond best" when you're throwing vast quantities of this stuff into a biologically male body.

So clearly I'm not a woman then..... oh wait....Wink

I think "yes dear" and nothing else is probably the best response to those tweets.

taggers123 · 14/07/2019 19:48

Really don't care, honestly. It's really about nature and the preservation of the female, whether lesbian or straight that rule is in stone and can't be adapted. Women are brilliant-and it should stay that way.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/07/2019 19:50

I just loooooooveeeee the profile photo. I’m guessing they actually look like Comic Store Guy from the Simpson’s. Always with the anime...

NataleeY · 15/07/2019 19:03

Women = Aduit Human Female

sakura184 · 15/07/2019 22:30

I follow a group on Facebook called:

Sounds like the ravings of a deranged lunatic, but okay

😂
Then they'll post a tweet like the one in the OP

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 15/07/2019 22:47

This definition was clearly written by someone with no understanding of how women react to HRT or the COCP.

Sorry, let me correct myself:

This definition was clearly written by someone with no understanding of how women react to HRT or the COCP.

But bless 'em for trying. At least it isn't circular and they've had a stab at grounding it in material reality.

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 15/07/2019 22:53

Also, way to screw over all the intersex athletes competing in women's sports with male levels of testosterone. I don't see Castor complaining about dysphoria caused by her T dominant endocrine system. In fact, her body and brain seem to be excelling on it! So by Elodie's definition...

TurboTeddy · 15/07/2019 22:57

The endocrinologist in this YouTube video disagrees with transmaiden.

AnyOldPrion · 15/07/2019 23:05

Hmmmm.... very rapid response she says....

Suspect that might be ....

The placebo effect!

Cynical? Me???

Grin
SweetMelodies · 15/07/2019 23:07

Yes can anybody explain the anime thing? I’ve noticed a lot of these sort of posts come from people with an anime character. Is it some sort of code or in joke or something? Genuinely serious question! I’ve googled but couldn’t find anything but I’ve noticed it so many times it can’t be a coincidence.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/07/2019 23:17

Well I guess that’s how they like to see themselves (very stylised and sexualised females - don’t think I’ve ever seen a male one). I’ve heard a theory about their shared ‘interests’ but it’s gross and im not certain it’s true so won’t repeat it.

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 15/07/2019 23:31

AnyOldPrion

Yup, alongside all the TW who say the Oestrogen made their voices become higher and more laydee-like. But it's all totes based in science, of course...

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 16/07/2019 07:10

I’ve seen one on twitter assert that their feet shrunk as a result. Eh?
