Queue for toilets at Wimbledon - can I self ID as a man?

Usual scenario. 200m queue for "ladies" with bountiful gents entirely unoccupied. Apart from the fact that men's toilets are rank, why can't I access them on the basis I've decided I'm a man?

Or, you could just use them.

TheInvestigator · 09/07/2019 15:36

I wouldn't because I don't want men using women's toilets and we can't have it both ways.

CloudPop · 09/07/2019 15:43

Yes I do agree. Just makes me so bloody mad so many venues (almost without exception) Haven't clocked on that they need more women's toilets than men's.

Could be worse, OP. The toilets could all be "gender neutral".

TigerCubScout · 09/07/2019 16:09

When women end up queuing for toilets we should stop being polite about it - start queuing in a way that obstructs others - across the entrance for the men's for example. Just start making it obvious that there's a shortage of toilets.

Pinkyyy · 09/07/2019 16:11

Enjoy it while there are still female toilets to queue for.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 09/07/2019 16:42

Do not use the men's!

(if on Centre Court use Number 1 loos when match ends and vice versa, you'll find them quieter, see also using Number 12s loos if on Number 2)

barelove · 09/07/2019 18:11

Does it matter if I do a number 2 in the Number 1 loos? Grin

BlackForestCake · 09/07/2019 18:58

Men are generally that not bothered by women using men's loos, because women almost never assault men.

CloudPop · 09/07/2019 22:12

I was told quite sternly I wasn't allowed into the mens' toilets

Arena concerts I go to are the opposite. The boys all nip in the girls cause the boys queue is so bad.

mineofuselessinformation · 09/07/2019 22:44

I went to an event where women queued to use the men's toilets too - it was fab!

TheRattleBag · 10/07/2019 01:28

The only time I've ever seen a longer queue for the gents' was at a beer festival!

2BthatUnnoticed · 10/07/2019 04:27

I understand the temptation! But if we want single sex spaces I think we have to observe them ourselves, or it just gives fuel to those who want to eliminate them. Yes it does suck that they don’t have more for women.

MrsSnippyPants · 10/07/2019 09:18

One of the many reasons I like going to the cricket is there is rarely a queue for the ladies! (Others include; I can take my knitting, I can do the crossword, I can drink wine, there are regular meal breaks or I can scoff a picnic, even time for a snooze occasionally Smile )

Yes it’s terribly civilised, no queues for the toilet, plenty of gin and a lunch break.
