I know this is Canada, but the increase of fetish display in public in U.K. - Pride marches, the assertion that everyone, children included, should see this as ‘natural’ and that especially worrying phrase, “self expression” is like grooming.
Young children have total trust in their parents and other close relatives. They accept what they are told when young as absolute truth without question. The implications of this I think are very worrying.

I didn't have a TV at this time and was living in Ireland anyway. However someone on twitter mentioned Minipops, a channel 4 programme that had 2 million viewers. This was in 1983.
