Interesting discussion about sex-related personality differences

Jesse Singal interviewed Spencer Greenberg who's done a meta analysis of studies purportedly showing personality differences in men and women. I'll put my hand up and admit that I am really uncomfortable with with idea that your personality is mandated by your sex. So I started listening with gritted teeth, but I was open to hearing something I didn't like. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised. Turns out the available data doesn't support the idea that there are big personality differences.

TBH I don't see any way that they could pin personality traits on your sex. At most, they could claim correlation but not causation. But then they'd just have to prove why those personality traits were down to your biology and not your socialisation (which is based on your sex).

But, there are always those that will claim there are differences, so I suppose having something you can point them at, showing that the data doesn't support their claim is nice.
