Munroe Bergdorf no longer associated with NSPCC or Childline

Thank fuck for that!

Transgender activist Munroe Bergdorf says she is "unbelievably sad" that the NSPCC has cut ties with her, days after she revealed she was Childline's "first LGBT+ campaigner".

She said the charity was "bowing down to pressure from a transphobic lobby".

Her appointment had been criticised by some on Twitter, with Ms Bergdorf described as a "porn model" and her appointment called "inappropriate".

The NSPCC has not explained exactly why it made the decision.

But the BBC has been told that NSPCC trustees received "transphobic letters" after the appointment was announced on Wednesday.

In a statement, the NSPCC said Ms Bergdorf "has supported the most recent phase of Childline's campaign which aims to support children with LGBTQ+ concerns" but she would have "no ongoing relationship with Childline or the NSPCC".

Good. I understand why the NSPCC wanted a trans person involved but they really picked the wrong one here.

Yeah saw that news. What a ridiculous notion in the first place.

Dear god this:

  • Repeated racist comments.
  • Horrible comments about women.
  • Not clear if she's generally homophobic or just Lesbians.
  • She immediately started boasting about the NSPCC ambassador role when they specifically ask that it is not used for self promotion.

She's very upset that her playboy shoot was called porn. It must be so hard for her with all these nasty people quoting her exact words and bringing up things she's done.

If they need an LGBT spokesperson I'm sure there are plenty of lesbians who would be well suited to the roll.

Good.

Anyone who would use distressed kids to make their point should be nowhere near children or services aimed at children. It's all an extension of " do what I want it i/they will kill/hurt myself/themselves.

And their homophobic tendencies makes them.unsuitsble imagine if kids were thinking about coming out and were confronted with those comments.

I wish these activists would make up there mind. One minute theres so few trans people that letting then in to female spaces or changing rules wont affect anyone else. The next theres thousands of them who contacted a person regularly and have no one to turn to now X has gone.

Which is it,?

Good. She simply is not suitable for that role, nothing to do with her being a transgendered person.

I have a feeling that that has never happened - and never will?
